Fire Training Safety and Live Fire Demonstrations

Throughout this course, you'll see a variety of live fire demonstrations, including wood fires, vehicle fires, metal fires involving magnesium, and fires contained within purpose-built training rigs. These demonstrations have been carefully planned to show how Zenova Fire Extinguishers perform in different fire scenarios.

Professional Fire Training Environment

Every demonstration featured in this course was carried out at a professional fire training facility under carefully controlled conditions. All fires were deliberately created and managed in accordance with strict safety procedures.

Do not attempt to recreate any of the fires shown in this course. Live fire training should only be carried out by suitably trained professionals in an approved training environment.

Safety Comes First

Although you may not always see them on camera, every demonstration is supported by experienced fire safety professionals. Additional firefighters, firefighting equipment and emergency resources remain on standby throughout the training in case they are required.

Even with detailed planning, comprehensive risk assessments and experienced personnel, working around live fire always carries risks. Unexpected events can occur, which is why multiple layers of safety are always in place.

Real Incidents Can Still Happen

During one of the filming sessions, an experienced firefighter lost their footing because of reduced visibility caused by smoke. Although the incident was minor and the firefighter was unharmed, it demonstrated an important lesson: even experienced professionals can encounter unexpected hazards when working around fire.

Fortunately, the incident was managed immediately because backup personnel and emergency equipment were already in position. This highlights why professional fire training should never be undertaken without appropriate supervision and contingency planning.

The Importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Anyone involved in live fire training must wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE). Depending on the activity being undertaken, this may include:

  • Fire-resistant protective clothing.
  • Appropriate fire service footwear.
  • Protective gloves and helmets.
  • Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) where required.
  • Access to trained backup personnel and firefighting equipment.

Proper PPE, combined with professional supervision, significantly reduces the risks associated with live fire exercises.

Further Fire Extinguisher Training

If you would like practical fire extinguisher training beyond this online course, ProTrainings offers additional fire safety training, including supervised live-fire exercises and virtual reality (VR) fire extinguisher training. These programmes allow learners to develop practical skills in a safe, controlled environment while receiving expert instruction.

Never attempt to recreate the demonstrations shown in this course. Always seek professional training if you require hands-on experience using fire extinguishers.
