This online course forms Part 1 of the Forest School First Aid qualification, designed to introduce learners to the essential theory and principles of first aid in outdoor learning environments. It covers the key knowledge required to prepare for the practical classroom sessions in Part 2.
Learners will explore the role of the forest school first aider, scene and casualty assessment, and essential first aid topics such as CPR, AED use, and choking management. The course also introduces the recognition and management of common illnesses and injuries, including bleeding, burns, shock, fractures, allergic reactions, asthma, diabetic emergencies, and anaphylaxis.
This is the part one online part for those who want to then complete the practical Forest Schools 16 Hour First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) blended part two.
This course comes with 8.0 hours of CPD, although the time to complete the course online may be less than this. Total course time includes 6 hours and 11 minutes of video training as well as knowledge reviews, final test, remedial help and reviewing downloaded material.
