The purpose of the Outdoor Pursuits course is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid to provide appropriate care and manage life-threatening conditions, illness and injuries sustained in an active environment. This is achieved through the understanding of the general duties, responsibilities and treatment principles of first aid.

This course includes the latest CPR and Coronavirus recommendations.

This course can be taken either as a 100% online course or as a blended course where after completing this online component, you complete a practical lesson locally.  Where this course is completed via the blended option, you would complete a one-day practical lesson.  We also offer a Sports First Aid course.

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021 as per the HSE requirements. This qualification and most of the other ProTrainings qualifications are Endorsed by TQUK to show our commitment to extra levels of compliance and quality assurance.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.

This course can be completed as the online part 1 of a 2-part blended course. After completing this online course, you may find and attend the classroom-only part 2 course and cut down on the number of days spent in the classroom.

This course comes with 6.0 hrs (12.0 class) of CPD, although the time to complete the course online may be less than this. Total course time includes 4 hours and 55 minutes of video training as well as knowledge reviews, final test, remedial help and reviewing downloaded material.

Do I receive a certificate after completing your online training?

Yes, when you complete the online course you will be able to download and print a compliant completion certificate, evidenced-based learning statement to confirm course content and a certified CPD statement. There is no extra charge for the certificate.  You can also buy a printed certificate to be posted to you for a small extra fee.

Can I take this course virtually online with a real instructor?

Yes, this course can be taken virtually. The course is taught thought our virtual learning platform and a Zoom link.  The course is taught by a real instructor online and you can interact with the instructor, ask questions just like a face to face lesson but without the travelling. Testing is carried out using our interactive online tests and you receive the same certificate at the end as you would with a face to face lesson.
