Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the app to use the device?
No. Once the initial setup is complete on the device, it can be used straight away in an emergency. The app is encouraged, and is free to download and use. Please note, the app is currently only available on iOS.
What is the app for?
The HeartHero app is used to monitor and manage HeartHero AEDs remotely. It helps users track AED status, battery life, pad expiry dates and device location. Multiple users can monitor and track the same device, while individual users can also track multiple devices simultaneously.
What do I do when I receive the device?
When you first receive your HeartHero Elliot AED, unbox the device and check all contents. Activate by pressing the green button and ensure the device passes its self-check. Once completed, Elliot is ready to use. Optionally, you can also connect it to the HeartHero app for monitoring and maintenance alerts.
What accessories does Elliot need?
The HeartHero Elliot AED mainly requires replacement electrode pads and batteries. The AED is supplied with pads and batteries upon initial purchase. The pads have a 5 year expiration from the manufacturer. Batteries are Duracell 123 Lithium batteries. Optional accessories include a carry case and emergency response items such as trauma shears and first aid supplies.

How often does the HeartHero™ Elliot® AED need maintenance?
The device performs regular self-checks, but users should still carry out routine visual inspections and ensure pads and batteries are in date. The HeartHero™ app can also help monitor readiness.
