Saving Lives One Beat at a Time: Restart A Heart Day

by Keith -

Restart A Heart Day takes place on the 16th of October every year.

Survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest remain stubbornly low in the UK, with fewer than one in 10 people surviving.

Cardiac arrests can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Restart A Heart Day highlights the vital role of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in increasing survival rates. By providing education and awareness, this day encourages individuals to learn CPR techniques and equip people with the skills to save a life.

Each year in the UK, 60,000 sudden cardiac arrests happen out of hospital, making it one of the nation’s biggest killers.
