More about this course

BTEC Level 4 Certificate for First Person on Scene (RQF) is the latest qualification launched in 2017 by Pearsons. FPOS Basic, Intermediate and Enhanced do not exist anymore and it has been replaced by a new regulated version. This is part two of the course for those who have completed the video online part one from ProTrainings.

The First Person on Scene FPOS course is designed for those involved in providing initial emergency care, for example, Community Responders, Fire and Police Officers, personnel involved in the security industry, senior cabin crew and industrial first aiders.

Taking the first aider on to the next level, topics in this course include pre-hospital assessment, respiration and airway management, Advanced CPR/AED (adult, child and infant) circulation and shock and trauma-related injuries, medical emergencies, Oxygen therapy and spinal immobilisation.

The new FPOS qualification leads itself to blended training very easily. With ProTrainings online part you will complete a series of videos, knowledge review questions to test your understanding and a short online test.

Delivered in a blended format, this qualification is endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (Edinburgh) and is certified through Edexcel.  First Person on Scene (FPOS) Intermediate is fully accepted by the Security Industry Authority.  The qualifications and any additional Units are valid for a period of 3 years. Periodic re-training and assessment of both the practical skills and supporting knowledge will, therefore, be required.

  • The course is available in two versions, this the standard certificate and the extended certificate covering more subjects.
  • There are no pre-requisites for this course, however, first aid knowledge is recommended.
  • This course is also an ideal standalone video online course to improve your first aid knowledge and understanding.

ProTrainings do not deliver the practical part, so you will need to source this accordingly.

This course comes with 20.0 hours of CPD, although the time to complete the course online may be less than this. Total course time includes 10 hours and 25 minutes of video training as well as knowledge reviews, final test, remedial help and reviewing downloaded material.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CPD and why is having Certified CPD important?

CPD stands for Continuous Professional Development and is required in many business sectors. Even if you do not require a set CPD credit level, having Certifed CPD ensures the quality of training. ProTrainings are the highest gold standard of CPD ensuring that all courses are externally verified and mapped to the highest levels.

What is "SCORM ready" and will courses run on a LMS?

SCORM Ready means that online courses can run on any compatible Learning Management System (LMS). Yes, when you complete the online course you will be able to download and print a compliant completion certificate, evidenced-based learning statement to confirm course content and a certified CPD statement. There is no extra charge for the certificate.  You can also buy a printed certificate to be posted to you for a small extra fee.

We offer a full range of training courses across all business sectors as video online, blended and nationwide at your business or our local training centres. With over 350 courses you can learn at a time and place that meets your busy schedules and save money on travel and costs away from the office.
