The law does not state a minimum or maximum temperature, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.protrainings.uk\/blog\/article\/welfare-at-work\/\">temperature<\/a> in workrooms should normally be at least 16\u00b0C or 13\u00b0C if much of the work involves rigorous physical effort.\u00a0 There is not a maximum temperature, as this can vary massively depending on the industry and environment.\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.protrainings.uk\/blog\/article\/what-is-a-competent-person-under-hse-regulations\/\">regulations<\/a> apply to employees, not members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 lays down particular requirements for most aspects of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.protrainings.uk\/blog\/article\/welfare-at-work\/\">working environment<\/a>. Regulation 7 deals specifically with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.protrainings.uk\/blog\/article\/what-is-a-hazard\/\">temperature<\/a> in indoor workplaces and states that:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<strong><em>During working hours, the temperature in all workplaces inside buildings shall be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.protrainings.uk\/blog\/article\/manual-handling-regulations\/\">reasonable<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>However, applying the regulation depends on the nature of the workplace, such as a bakery, a cold store, an office, or a warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The temperature in workplaces is regulated to ensure a safe working environment.
